SRS and Excursions

STUDNET RESOURCE SCHEME

To provide parents with a cost-effective alternative to purchasing textbooks and/or resources elsewhere, Baringa State Primary
School operates a Student Resource Scheme or SRS.
The scheme ensures that students have the resources required for them to engage with the curriculum for their education, and saves parents time and money in sourcing the prescribed materials elsewhere. Savings are gained through the
school's bulk purchasing practices and hiring arrangements. The scheme is not used to raise funds for other purposes, and revenue collected through the scheme is applied only to the resources and operation of the scheme. The scheme's operation,
resource inclusions and participation fees are approved by the school's P&C Association at a meeting each year.
SRS Participation
The objective of the scheme is to provide a convenient and cost-effective way for students to access the educational resources necessary to enhance their learning experience at school. The Department encourages parents to participate
in the scheme. Participation in the SRS is optional, and no obligation is placed on a parent to participate. Participation is for the duration of your child's enrolment at the school. The cost for the SRS in 2025 is $110, for those families choosing to pay upfront the fee is due in week 2 of term 1, for those opting for instalment payments week 2 of term 1, 2 and 3.

All outstanding SRS will be followed up in term 3 and students may not be added to excursion/camp/incursion rolls until a suitable plan is in place and some payments have been made. Please ensure that payment plans are in place and payments are up to date to avoid disappointment.

EXCURSIONS - Consent and Payment

With such a large number of excursions happening at school it is important to remember that all permissions and payments must be made by the due dates.

The ladies in the office do a tremendous job of organising excursion rolls for our 928 students, some year levels have multiple activities happening in a very short space of time meaning sometimes there are over a thousand permissions and payments coming in at once. We work very hard to ensure that all students who have consent and have paid are able to attend the activities - we cannot contact individual parents to remind or request consent or payment.

To ensure consent and payment are received on time could parents/carers please assist by

  • Signing up for Qparents to do digital consents and payments
  • Giving consent and paying invoices by the due dates
  • Directing any questions about invoices and payments to the office (not to teachers or other staff)

We encourage families to contact us if you are experiencing financial difficulties, please contact the school office if you would like to arrange a payment plan or discuss payment options.

A reminder that Non-payment of the SRS fee by designated payment date(s) may result in debt recovery action in accordance with the Department’s Debt Management procedure. In such cases, the Principal may:

  • withdraw the student’s participation in the SRS
  • require the return of items provided by the SRS
  • withhold the provision of any further items under the SRS
  • refuse participation in the SRS where participation fees are overdue from the previous year(s), and/or
  • exclude the student from optional, non-curricular activities and/or
  • initiate debt recovery action.
