Dear Parents and Carers,
As we conclude another busy and rewarding term, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our families for your ongoing support and partnership. It has been a wonderful term filled with meaningful learning, joyful experiences, and strong connections across our school community.
This week, our Prep students celebrated their Level 1 Rewards Day – a student-led initiative that truly reflected their creativity and collaboration. The children chose to set up their own ice-cream parlours, enjoy time on the playground, and relax with a movie. This celebration was not only a well-earned reward but also a rich learning experience. Students later reflected on the day as part of their English Speaking and Listening Task, retelling the experience with enthusiasm and confidence – a perfect example of authentic learning in action.

Student Engagement – Looking Ahead to Term 4
We are pleased to announce that our popular school-based skateboarding program, delivered by Chiggy’s Skateboarding, will return in Term 4 for students in Years 3 and 4. The program will run for five weeks, beginning in Week 5, and will take place during school hours each Friday. Interest has already been high, and places are limited. If you would like your child to participate, please email smewh3@eq.edu.au to register your interest by 19th September.
Tadpoles Playgroup – Term 4
Our Tadpoles Playgroup will recommence on Friday 17th October. This program is an excellent opportunity for pre-prep children to begin their transition to school in a supportive and engaging environment. Led by one of our experienced Prep teachers, Playgroup begins with free play on the playground at 9:00am, followed by story time and hands-on activities in one of our purpose-built Prep classrooms from 9:30am. We warmly invite all families with pre-prep aged children to attend.
2026 Prep Enrolments – Now Open
Enrolments for our 2026 Prep cohort are now open. If you have a child starting Prep in 2026, or know a family who does, we encourage you to enrol as soon as possible. Our Prep classes are filling quickly, and we have only two remaining play-based enrolment sessions available:
Thursday 16th October
Thursday 13th November
These sessions provide a valuable opportunity for children to explore our learning spaces and for families to connect with our staff. Please contact the school office to secure your place.

Thank you once again for a fantastic term. I wish all families a safe and restful holiday break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting term of learning and growth.
