Year 1 & 2 Deputy Principal Report
We are thrilled to announce that our Term 4 swimming program for Year Prep, Year 1 and Year 3 students is just around the corner! This program at John Wallace Swim School Baringa is a wonderful opportunity for students to develop essential water safety skills, improve swimming technique and build confidence in and around the water. Classes will have specific days they will go swimming – please refer to the letter sent home. The program kicks off on Monday 03 November (week 5) and will be finished on Thursday 04 December (week 9).

Please complete the online consent form by this date. - Payment Due: Wednesday, 29 October
The cost of the program is $55 per student. 
What to Bring:
To ensure your child is fully prepared for each swimming session, please pack the following items:
- High togs
 - High visibility rash shirt
 - Goggles
 - Thongs (flip-flops)
 - Swimming cap
 - Towel
 - Sunscreen
 - Waterproof bag
 
Letters with full details have been sent home. We appreciate your support in helping students be ready and excited for this valuable learning experience.
Year 2 Level 1 Rewards Day – Disco Delight!
On Monday 15 September, the school hall came alive with music, lights and laughter as Year 2 students celebrated their Level 1 Rewards Day with an unforgettable Disco Party!
Students danced, played games, and had loads of fun with their friends. The energy was electric, especially during the Disco Train, where students formed a joyful conga line that snaked around the hall, picking up dancers along the way!
A massive shout-out to DJ JT, who kept the beats pumping and the vibes high all day long! Your music made the party truly special – thank you for bringing the disco magic!
This celebration was a well-earned reward for all the hard work and positive behaviour shown by our Year 2 students. Huge thanks to the staff who helped organise the event and made it such a memorable day.
Well done, Year 2 – you rocked the dance floor!



Year 1 Level 1 Rewards Day – Sweet Success!
On Thursday 18 September, our Year 1 students celebrated their Level 1 Rewards Day with a delicious and creative activity – biscuit making!
The classroom was buzzing with excitement as students decorated their own biscuits using chocolates, M&Ms and lollies. With colourful toppings and lots of imagination, each biscuit became a tasty work of art! From smiley faces to rainbow designs, the creativity was on full display.
This fun and tasty activity was a special reward for all the hard work, kindness, and positive behaviour shown by our Year 1 students throughout the term. It was a joyful way to celebrate their achievements and enjoy some well-earned treats together.
A big thank you to all the staff who helped organise the day and made it such a sweet success!

Junior Arts Gala Afternoon – Save the Date!
We are excited to invite families to the Junior Arts Gala Afternoon on Wednesday, 29 October, held in the Baringa State Primary School hall from 1:45pm to 2:45pm.
Students will showcase their talents in:
- Junior Choir
 - Beginner Strings
 - Junior Dance Performances
 - Visual Arts Junior Awards
 - Finale School Song (all performers)
 - Arts Awards
 
Students should wear their full school uniform and/or dance costume. A full-dress rehearsal will take place earlier that day. Visual Arts Award winners only need to attend if they are part of another performance.
To support our performers, we kindly ask all audience members to remain seated for the entire event. Performers are also expected to stay until the finale.
The Baringa SPS P&C will host a BBQ with eftpos-only payments available.

Senior Arts Gala Evening – A Celebration of Talent!
We’re delighted to announce that the Senior Arts Gala Evening will be held on Wednesday, 5 November, from 4:30pm to 6:00pm at the Performing Arts Centre, Baringa State Secondary College. This stunning venue promises an unforgettable experience for both performers and guests.
Performances include:
- Senior Choir
 - Concert Band
 - String Orchestra
 - Excellence Dance Performances
 - Year 6 Dance Team
 - Senior Dance
 - Visual Arts
 - Finale School Song (all participants)
 - Arts Awards
 
Important Details:
- Students must arrive by 4:00pm and wear full school uniform (formal for Yr. 5 & 6) and/or dance costume.
 - A full-dress rehearsal will be held earlier that day from 9:15am–11:30am at Baringa SSC. Consent forms have been emailed and must be completed.
 - Each student will receive four tickets for family members to attend.
 - Audience members are asked to remain seated for the entire event to support all performers.
 - Only staff and students are permitted in dressing rooms.
 
The Baringa SPS P&C will host a BBQ at the event with eftpos-only payments.

NZ Music Tour Brings Joyful Sounds to Baringa SPS
On Wednesday in the last week of Term Three, Baringa SPS had the privilege of hosting the New Zealand Music Team, who had just landed in Brisbane as part of their exciting international tour. With 80 talented tour members, including staff, the group delivered a vibrant and engaging performance that left students and staff alike buzzing with excitement.
The ensemble featured a student Orchestra, Concert Band, Stage Band and Choirs, offering a rich and diverse musical experience. Their performance, held in the school hall was a true celebration of musical talent and cultural exchange.
The concert was not only a feast for the ears but also a valuable cultural experience for our students. The energy and enthusiasm of the performers were infectious, and the variety of musical styles ensured there was something for everyone to enjoy.
