Baringa Table Tennis teams prepare for the State Finals
Earlier this term four of our talented Baringa students took part in the QLD Schools Table Tennis Regional Championships held at South Pine Sports Complex in Brendale. The competition format was two player teams across three age divisions with our students competing in the Under 12 Hopes Division. 25 teams competed in the U12 Hopes category, 33 teams in the U15 Junior category and 7 teams in the Open category for a total of 65 teams and 132 players!
The competition was a thrilling showcase of skill, strategy, and athleticism, bringing together players of all levels to compete in an electrifying atmosphere. The event was meticulously organized, ensuring a positive experience for participants and spectators alike. An exciting day with many close fought matches being played. Our students played extremely well and represented our school with pride, character, sportsmanship and determination. Beyond the competition, the event fostered a sense of community, encouraging new friendships and inspiring budding players to take up the sport. It also served as a platform to promote healthy competition and the values of perseverance and respect.
Along with bringing home silver and bronze medals in their respective divisions our two Baringa Teams have also been selected to compete in the QLD State Final held later this term. Well-done boys, a lot of hard work and training has gone into this success! We wish the boys all the very best of luck for their upcoming preparations and the next level of competition in late November.
