RideScore Active Schools

  1. Do you live close to school
  2. Does your child have a bike or scooter
  3. Would you like your child to get an active, healthy and fun start to the day
  4. Would you like more time in your day, and avoid the traffic queue at the school drop-off and pick-up
  5. Would you like to receive confirmation that your child has arrived or departed school safely

If you answered YES to these questions, then RideScore is for you!

We are one of 11 Sunshine Coast schools that are enjoying RideScore Active Schools Program funded by councils Transport Levy.

What is RideScore

RideScore is an incentive-based program delivered by Sunshine Coast Council and We Ride Australia to increase active travel to and from school. The program is open to students who are able to ride a bicycle or scooter to school.

Participating students receive a beacon to attach to their bicycle or scooter. The school bicycle storage facility has a Bluetooth reader that detects the signal from the beacon and sends a notification to the nominated contact, via the RideScore app, to inform them that the student has arrived at/or departed the school.

Each trip is recorded by the RideScore app, providing incentives when the students reach their milestones. Students are able to earn great prizes at the following milestones:

  • 20 Trips – Mystery prize
  • 70 Trips – Movie ticket
  • 120 Trips – Bli Bli Aqua Park voucher.

Activities will be planned throughout the school year to promote and encourage riding and scooting, including fun events and bicycle skills classes for all year 4 students.

How do I register

Step 1 - Download the app (search ‘RideScore’), complete your registration.

Step 2 – Receive your starter pack (posted within one week) that will include:

  • Your child’s beacon & instructions on how to pair and fit
  • A scorecard for the fridge (your app will also keep a live score)

Step 3 – Start riding and scooting!

Visit the RideScore website for more information, great resources and safety tips.

RideScore is proudly funded by Sunshine Coast Council’s Transport Levy

Under 8’s Day 2025

On Friday, 23rd May, we will be holding Under 8’s Day at Baringa State Primary School. This year’s Under 8’s Week theme is ‘Unleashing Scientific Thinking through Play.’

Students will have the opportunity to engage in exciting, hands-on activities that encourage curiosity and discovery. Activities on the day will include STEM challenges, discovery play and some scientific experiments.

All Prep, Year 1, and Year 2 students will participate together from 9:15 am – 10:45 am, with activities spread out across the school.

Parents are welcome to attend and spend the morning with their child. We will have Justin from Brew Box set up his coffee van set up near the ‘Baringa Bytes’ tuck shop too for parents to enjoy. He will be there serving coffee from 7am. Younger siblings are also welcome to join in the fun.

We look forward to a fantastic day of learning and play!

 Amazing Art in Year 1

Our Year 1 classrooms have been bursting with colour, creativity and imagination! From bright colourful birds, beautiful tropical fish to roaring lions, our little artists have been hard at work creating masterpieces that are nothing short of amazing.

Students have explored painting, drawing, and collage, using a mix of pastels, watercolours, pens and more. Each artwork tells a unique story, showing just how talented and imaginative our Year 1s truly are.

Well done, artists! Keep those creative juices flowing

Year 2/3 Middle Years Cross Country

Last Thursday, our Year 2 students took part in the annual Cross Country event—and what an exciting day it was! Students showed great determination and enthusiasm as they raced around the course, cheered on by classmates, parents and staff.

It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, as students gave their best effort and supported one another throughout the event. Whether running, jogging, or walking, everyone participated with a positive attitude and showed fantastic sportsmanship.

Thank you to the staff who helped organise the event and to everyone who came along to support our young athletes.
