This term in Prep, we've been busy exploring the difference between imaginative and informative texts through our integrated English and Science units—with a special focus on farm animals!

One of the highlights of the term was our exciting farm incursion on Thursday, 29th May. The school oval transformed into a mini farm, giving students the opportunity to interact with a variety of animals. They loved patting the animals and learning about their characteristics, behaviours, and external features.

Back in the classroom, our teachers have extended the learning through play-based experiences with a farm theme. Each Prep classroom has created unique spaces including farm-themed tables, mini farmers’ markets, duck ponds, and even cows that students can "milk." It’s been wonderful to see students engaging in rich, imaginative play while deepening their understanding of the world around them.

Prep Vision Screening

The Primary School Nurse Health Readiness Program is offering free vision screening for all Prep students at Baringa State Primary School.

Screening begins: Monday, 18th August 2025
Consent form due: Sunday, 10th August 2025

This is a Queensland Government service designed to support your child’s learning and development. To participate, please complete the consent form using the link or QR code provided.

Enrol Now for Prep 2026!

Enrolments are now open for Prep 2026! We encourage families to enrol early to secure your preferred time for a play-based enrolment interview.

Early enrolment allows our Prep team to connect with your child’s kindy or daycare and begin building a strong foundation for a smooth transition into school life.
