Dear Parent/ Caregiver

As we near the final weeks of Semester One, I hope this newsletter finds you well. With the end-of-semester assessments completed, I want to emphasize the importance of regular school attendance. Attending school consistently ensures that report cards accurately reflect the most up-to-date evidence of student achievement. It also allows students to stay engaged, complete assessments, review key material, and seek support from their teachers. Every day at school plays a vital role in strengthening the knowledge and skills needed for success. Let’s make every day matter!

Semester One Assessment Reporting

Reports are now being finalized and will be e-mailed home to parents on Friday June 27. Please take the opportunity to read through this report with your child. When going through your child’s report I would ask all parents to focus on the effort result and discuss how their child’s effort is assisting in improving academic progress. Should you have any questions about your child’s report please contact your child’s class teacher to make an appointment.

A reminder to all parents to please ensure that the office staff have up-to-date information in terms of e-mail contact details so that the reports are sent to the correct address.

Academic Excellence Assembly

Next Monday morning the school will be recognising those students who have worked hard and excelled academically during Semester one. Congratulations to those students who achieved this recognition. The ‘Spirit of Baringa ‘award is also being presented to a number of students at this assembly in recognition of their effort and determination to progress in their learning this year. I am looking forward to being a part of this assembly and acknowledging each students’ achievements.

Year 3&4 Baringa Elite Minds Academy Day

Great to see the students participating in our first Yr 3-4 BEMA Day have such a wonderful learning experience last Friday. Plenty of great learning for the kids as they investigated ‘The Case of the Missing IPad’. As a school we are always striving to engage and interest our best and brightest students and Mrs Harvey and the Curriculum Engagement Team certainly achieved this with the kids. Another great learning opportunity for Baringa SPS students.

Athletics Carnivals

The athletics season was a highlight of Semester One, and our talented student athletes showcased their skills across a variety of events during our Sports Carnivals. More importantly, it was a time to celebrate teamwork and peer encouragement, shining in true Baringa spirit. It was great to see so many families join us on these days to cheer on the students and share in the excitement of our sports events. Big thanks to Mr Kimber, Mr Curley, PK and Dan for their preparation and coordination of these days – another Baringa winner!

Student Dress Code Policy

With the colder weather now here, a number of students have been observed not following the Student Dress Code. Please see details of the code below and ensure that your child attends the school each day in full school uniform.

The Baringa State Primary School community is committed to maintaining a culture of high standards in all that we do. As such our school has a Student Dress Code Policy that ensures our students represent themselves and our school to the highest standards each and every day. Consistent dress standards establish a positive and united school community identity. For the full policy please go to the school Website: www.baringass.eq.edu.au .

The Student Dress Code Policy provides for the following:

  • Standards of what is acceptable in relation to the clothing worn by the students, including headwear and footwear;
  • Standards of what is acceptable in relation to other aspects of the personal presentation of the students.

Your compliance with the policy and support here is appreciated.

Semester One 2025 Feedback

As a school we are always looking to improve and value feedback from our parent community. Please take the time to complete the short survey on the link below which will help us plan to better meet the needs of the Baringa School Community into Semester Two of 2025.

Looking forward to seeing those parents that can make it to one of the many events being held in the last week of term.

Have a great winter holiday and look forward to seeing everyone back at school for Semester Three
