World Teachers’ Day – October 31
On October 31, we celebrate World Teachers’ Day – a special occasion to recognize and value the incredible contribution of our teaching staff. A highlight of our 2025 School Opinion Survey was feedback given by the students and parents in relation to their teachers – see below:
- My teachers help me with my schoolwork when I need it 91% agree
- My teachers motivate me to learn 94% agree
- My teacher expects me to do my best 93% agree
- I can talk to my child’s teacher about my concerns 92% agree
- Teachers at this school expect my child to do their best 99% agree
- This school celebrates student achievements 97% agree
Our students and parents certainly value the contribution of our teaching team and on behalf of the Baringa SPS community I thank them for the work that they do for our students.
Great team effort Baringa!

Getting Ready for 2026.
Parents are reminded that they are able to obtain a Parent Request Form from the school office to provide information of a significant nature, that the School may not be aware of and may have relevance for class formation for 2026. These forms need to be completed and returned to the office by Wednesday 12th November, to be considered in the class construction process.
Kids in Action Team Inspired and Enjoyed.
During the final week of Term 3, our enthusiastic Kids in Action Team had the wonderful opportunity to learn, connect, and be inspired at the Kids in Action Workshops and Conference, held at the beautiful Maroochy Botanical Gardens and Nambour Showgrounds.
This exciting event brought together young changemakers from across the region to share ideas and explore ways to make a positive difference in their communities. Our students represented our school with pride, curiosity, and creativity throughout the experience.
As part of their learning journey, the team also enjoyed a hands-on field trip to Cotton Tree, where they took part in three engaging activities — Dance, String Making, and Painting. Each activity encouraged teamwork, self-expression, and cultural understanding, leaving everyone feeling inspired and connected.
We are so proud of our Kids in Action Team for their enthusiasm, respect, and willingness to step up as young leaders. They’ve returned with fresh ideas and a renewed passion for making a difference in our school and beyond! The Kids in Action Team will also be involved in planting some trees in the local environment next week.

Year 5 Unleashing Personal Performance (UPP) Incursion
On Wednesday our Year 5 students participated in the Unleashing Personal Performance (UPP) program — a dynamic and engaging leadership experience designed to prepare them for their senior roles in 2026.
Throughout the day, students took part in a range of interactive sessions and team challenges that encouraged self-awareness, collaboration, and leadership. Key activities included “Leading With or Without the Badge” — exploring leadership through influence and kindness, “The EPIC Race” — an energetic outdoor challenge based on our A.S.P.I.R.E. framework, and “Knowing Me, Growing Me” — helping students identify and build on their personal strengths.
It was a fantastic day of learning, teamwork, and inspiration as our future leaders began their journey toward becoming positive role models in our school community.
Many of our students have also put themselves forward for Student Council selection, the first step in our selection of leadership positions for 2025. We wish these students good luck and want to remind all of our current Year 5 students that whether you wear a badge in Year 6 or not, you are still all leaders and role models for our younger students.
Thank you to Baringa State Primary School’s P&C who generously donated the funds to cover the cost for all Year 5 students to attend this incursion. Thank you to our P&C for supporting this event.

Baringa Table Tennis teams prepare for the State Finals
Earlier this term four of our talented Baringa students took part in the QLD Schools Table Tennis Regional Championships held at South Pine Sports Complex in Brendale. The competition format was two player teams across three age divisions with our students competing in the Under 12 Hopes Division. 25 teams competed in the U12 Hopes category, 33 teams in the U15 Junior category and 7 teams in the Open category for a total of 65 teams and 132 players!
The competition was a thrilling showcase of skill, strategy, and athleticism, bringing together players of all levels to compete in an electrifying atmosphere. The event was meticulously organized, ensuring a positive experience for participants and spectators alike. An exciting day with many close fought matches being played. Our students played extremely well and represented our school with pride, character, sportsmanship and determination. Beyond the competition, the event fostered a sense of community, encouraging new friendships and inspiring budding players to take up the sport. It also served as a platform to promote healthy competition and the values of perseverance and respect.
Along with bringing home silver and bronze medals in their respective divisions our two Baringa Teams have also been selected to compete in the QLD State Final held later this term. Well-done boys, a lot of hard work and training has gone into this success! We wish the boys all the very best of luck for their upcoming preparations and the next level of competition in late November.

Survey investigations starting soon to help bust congestion at major Caloundra roundabout!
We’re laying the groundwork for future road upgrades across the southern Sunshine Coast.
As part of the Queensland Government’s Caloundra Congestion Busting Plan, we’re progressing with survey investigations at the Caloundra Road, Kawana Way Link Road and Bells Creek Arterial Road intersection.
These investigations will provide important information to help plan safer, more efficient ways to move through one of the region’s busiest transport corridors.
What we’re doing
- Mapping road heights, drainage and existing services
- Using a survey vehicle to scan road surfaces (for up to one week)
- Using a low-flying helicopter to scan ground features (for a few hours over a single day)
- Collecting information to support design of the future overpass
Thank you for your support while we undertake these vital works to keep you connected.
For more information about the project and to register for updates please visit the Caloundra Road, Kawana Way Link Road and Bells Creek Arterial Road intersection website.

Stockland will shortly commence road duplication works on Aura Boulevard, North Nirimba, to enhance the local road network and improve traffic capacity and flow.
This upgrade will create two (2) lanes each way on Aura Boulevard between Farmers Crescent, Baringa and Central Avenue, Nirimba, including the duplication of the bridge across Bells Creek North.
The location of the works areas is indicated on the below map.
These works will take place within the road reserve corridor, on the western side of Aura Boulevard, which includes allowance for these planned road upgrades.
The works are approved by Economic Development Queensland (in their role as the planning authority) with works to increase transport infrastructure capacity as Aura continues to grow.
Fast Facts:
• Scope and location: Duplication of Aura Boulevard to two (2) lanes in each direction, including duplication of the existing vehicle bridge.
• Schedule: Works are scheduled to commence in October 2025 and are expected to be completed in early 2027, subject to weather conditions and progress.
• Road and pedestrian movements: Vehicle movements will be maintained through the works areas. At times, temporary traffic controls and reduced speed limits will be in place for safety. The pedestrian links north of Nirimba and the east-west underpass will be closed during the works to help ensure pedestrian safety. Alternative pedestrian routes are allocated and illustrated on the project map on page 2.
• Works to comply with environmental approvals: All works, including necessary vegetation clearing, revegetation and rehabilitation will be undertaken in accordance with conditions of approvals.
• Workdays and times: Monday to Friday, generally during daylight hours between 7.00am – 5.00pm, including some works on Saturday. If night works are necessary, the community will be notified in advance.
Appointed Contractor:
Stockland has engaged BMD to deliver the works. Stockland will remain closely involved in the delivery of the project.
New Bus Stop:
A new bus stop will be installed on the western side of the duplicated road, closer to the completion of the new lanes.
Community updates:
Ongoing progress updates will be provided.
If you would like to receive electronic updates please email: contact@construct-projects.com.
We will also provide construction information at the ‘Construction Updates’ webpage on the Stockland Aura website.
Thank you for your patience
We understand the works may create some inconvenience.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we deliver this new, essential infrastructure.
